Brow Lift Surgery in Overland Park
Balance your face with natural rejuvenation with the type of brow lift that works for you.
Drooping, low-set, asymmetric and/or flattened brows are common reasons to seek out a brow lift. Also, as part of a facelift, a brow lift can be very important to balance the upper third of one’s face and prevent bunching in the temple area of the face. Age, genetics and environmental factors like sun exposure and tobacco use all contribute to the position and shape of the brow leading to a generally tired or grumpy appearance.
Non-surgical therapies usually fail to significantly reduce any of these signs, but brow lift provides powerful and natural rejuvenation. Lifting, reshaping and supporting the brows surgically allows for long lasting correction of aging brows.
Brow lifts can be accomplished several different ways, with endoscopic brow lifts, temporal (lateral) brow lifts, trichophytic brow lifts and direct brow lifts representing the primary ways. Depending on the type, small incisions are placed behind the hairline or just at the top edge of the eye brows. Then, the attachment of the brows to the skull are loosened, suspended in a higher, more shapely position and secured in place. Stitches or staples are left in place for about a week before being removed. Many times, dissolvable sutures or implants are present for many months to allow the brows to stay fastened in their new position while they heal.
Other than direct brow lift, all other types are performed in the operating room under sedation. This is for best patient comfort and thoroughness of brow repositioning. Direct brow lift can be easily and comfortably accomplished in the office with only local anesthesia.
